“In St. Petersburg, more spectators will gather at the match with Iraq than in Sochi” – Nigmatullin
Moving the friendly match between Russia and Iraq from Sochi to St. Petersburg is a logical decision, because it will attract more spectators, says former Lokomotiv Moscow goalkeeper Ruslan Nigmatullin.
Earlier, the communications service of the Russian Football Union (RFU) told Match TV that an agreement had been reached to hold a friendly match between Russia and Iraq on March 26 at the Gazprom Arena in St. Petersburg.
– Russian football fans have already missed international matches. It’s great that the match with Iraq will be held in our country! I think there will be more spectators at this game in St. Petersburg than in Sochi. In this regard, the atmosphere will be more football-like. Moving the match to St. Petersburg is a logical decision,” Nigmatullin said to the “Championship”.
