Quincy Promes: “I’m already Russian, with any passport”

Spartak Moscow midfielder Quincy Promes admitted that he feels like a Russian, despite the citizenship of the Netherlands, the football player also spoke about his emotions after the 100th goal for the Red-Whites.

Earlier it was reported that the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation denied Spartak assistance in obtaining Russian citizenship for Promes. On Saturday, the Dutchman scored a brace in the match of the 19th round of the WORLD RPL against Fakel Voronezh (3:2). In total, the striker scored 101 goals in 204 matches for the Moscow club.

– Everyone knows that I am a citizen of the Netherlands, but I am already a Russian, with any passport. Today is a very special day, I went down in history. The support of my family is especially encouraging. Usually they support me from afar, but today in the stadium.

I never get nervous before matches, I love my job, football is a great joy. But nevertheless, I needed emotions to score the 100th goal. Of course, this is a special event and emotions. While it is difficult to understand. I don’t want to make any pauses, I want to reach new heights.

We need to correct our mistakes. We go from game to game. We will look at the table at the end of the season. As long as there are chances, we are in the race, but we do not concentrate on such goals.

– What is your motivation now?

– Win the championship again, it’s obvious! – quotes the words of Promes “Match TV”.

INFANTINO: “If there was no FIFA, there would be no football in 150 countries of the world”

FIFA President Gianni Infantino He commented on World Cup ticket prices, saying they reflected “absolutely insane” demand for next summer’s tournament:

“We have six to seven million tickets and in 15 days we received 150 million ticket requests. So every day we have 10 million requests. This shows how strong the World Cup is.”

FIFA has sold just 44 million tickets in almost 100 years of the World Cup. So we were able to sell tickets for the 300th anniversary of the World Cup in two weeks. Just imagine. “This is absolutely crazy.”

Infantino also noted that funds from ticket sales would be reinvested into world football, but did not specify a specific amount:

“The important thing is that the revenue from this goes back into football around the world. If it weren’t for FIFA, there would be no football in 150 countries of the world. Football exists thanks to the revenues we get from the World Cup, and we reinvest that into football around the world.”

Previously, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer called on FIFA to further reduce 2026 World Cup ticket prices.
