207 spectators at the RPL match is a disaster. The football league is dying

Frequency is only one of the problems.

Fan ID cleared the stands of people

“Spartak” and “Ural” play in the same tournament in an empty arena, and in the cup they will meet without restrictions. Also, you don’t need a Fan ID to watch the national team match. Is Karpin’s teamwork confidence not important? The rule, introduced everywhere, brought the match between Torpedo and Ural to 207 spectators. Utkin suggested erecting a memorial obelisk in their honor in the new Moscow arena. The structure of the phallic form is a thick metaphor, but it fits. Zenit claimed to have attracted 20,638 spectators, but in RPL it officially counted 15965. Is it time to put dummies in stadiums and count them? But seriously, when Spartak gathers 5,000 people and CSKA 2,680 in a city of 13 million, that’s a disaster.

Without European Cups there is no podium

CSKA shares fourth-fifth place with Dynamo, they have 32 points each. “Spartak” broke away by eight points. But even if Fedotov and Jokanovic change places with Abaskal before the end of the season, what will change globally? Second place sent to the Champions League. Previously, there were three coupons, this is a fight. There is now little difference between the second line and the tenth. Sochi was the silver medalist, but how has that changed the club? Although by some miracle the second RPL it will be “Akhmat”, and the third “Rostov”, then the departure of Muscovites from the pedestal will only emphasize the state of affairs.

The new Cup has distracted attention

Instead of league matches, people will come to cup matches, where there are no unnecessary barriers. First, this is a simulation of international tournaments, home and away games. Secondly, the Swiss scheme allows, for example, Spartak to take off from the Ural, but play against Zenit. And in case of victory, compete again for the trophy. There is a lot of cup intrigue ahead, Semak is not a clear favorite there, he doesn’t like the knockout format. Of course, if the referees RFS extension try, then the cup tournament will lose popularity in the spring. But without blatant decisions from the outside, the tournament should be more enjoyable RPL.

No money for powerful transfers

All winter they talked about Chelsea, where they signed players for big money. The Boeli club was on the front page. How can one be at the top of the public interest with transfers, such as Duarte’s arrival at Spartak? Club-to-club transfers are a major theme in football. It’s inside RPL the main transfer of the winter is Dzyuba’s return from the clothing market, where he joked with Slutsky. The transitions of Pinyaev, Lantratov and Glushenkov to Lokomotiv are not so loud. Renan needs to start playing and go to a big western club for wild money, so that after the fact his transfer is considered successful. Kadi and Tavares are not newcomers who can arouse mass interest RPL.

The talents of RPL little ambition

The point is related to the previous one. In a league where money runs out, trading is important. It’s time to make money on player sales. But Zenit keeps Malcolm. Dynamo did not find a new club for Zakharyan. Krasnodar is in no hurry to part with Safonov and Spertsyan. Fan ID was smart enough to introduce it, even though they quickly wrote it wouldn’t work, especially if ultra-informed clubs announced a boycott. And they were not smart enough to remove the limit, which led only to the Brazilians in the Russian team, and not an increase in the number of their world-class players. Salaries keep players interesting RPLand the lack of transfers in the top 5 forces potential newcomers to choose other options.

Great shortage of managers

Some reporters mocked Herkus that he had left Torpedo. Also criticized for a candid interview on team affairs. As a result, Torpedo with 1 win in 19 matches in last place in the championship, Herkus left, Dzyuba did not come, and the home match of the first team of the big club after the draw with Krasnodar gathered 207 spectators in the capital . RPL actively leaving people who knew how to work better than those who came after them. Clubs have problems with quality managers. You can attract a promising coach only by chance, like Abascal in Spartak. But we’ll see how long Guillermo will last with such an arbitrage.

Judging inconsistency

Even if we discard any conspiracy theories and practices of collusion, what is left is a haphazard set of conflicting solutions. The referee is definitely not stronger than the players and coaches, as one of their bosses kept repeating before the season resumed. Only two rounds have passed and there are already a lot of mistakes in different fights. Half of the teams have questions for the referee. Some judges weren’t wrong, they just made resounding decisions. But there was Meshkov, there is Frolov and company. Their controversial work alienates people further RPL. Furthermore, the lack of competition for high posts also discourages the arbiter. They knew that a single mistake could deprive clubs of tens of millions of euros Uefa. Now everything is different. There is only the fight for the Scudetto and relegation.

There is an urgent need to react, and the League lacks an authoritative leader. Alexander Alaev, perhaps, is a promising official for a carefree time. But he now he doesn’t open important doors by the foot of him. It is important for him not just to talk, but to force the lifting of the non-working restriction and prevent a global catastrophe. The best footballers run in the spring with empty stands with misunderstood refereeing, after which their motivation will wane. The guys from Zenit and Spartak will not get the Champions League, and middle peasant players may see payment delays. It is clear where this will lead.

Vladimir SHARAN: “The Swedes were too weak at the New Year’s table”

For many, the coming year is associated with bright hopes and expectations of changes for the better in life and work. The famous football coach is no exception. Vladimir SharanShared with the reporter Spor.ua Statements about the New Year theme.

– Until what age did you believe in Santa Claus?

– I don’t even remember. Probably up to age six. No more. Until I went to school.

– What is the most unusual New Year celebration in your life?

– The most unusual and extraordinary was the New Year, which I spent in Israel during my stay as a player in the USSR youth team. An international tournament was organized in this country, in which our team participated. It’s plus twenty outside and we’re celebrating the new year in shorts and T-shirts.

The next day we had to play against the Swedish national team in the final. The Swedes sat next to our table on New Year’s Eve, they saw how we relaxed, and how we relaxed. Believe me, we rested much better and played much better (smiles). As it turned out, the Swedes were very weak at the festive table. We won the final match 2-0.

– As a Ukrainian citizen and a football coach, what do you expect from the new year 2026?

– To be honest, everyone is waiting for one thing; peace. And I’m not the only one who can say that. If there is peace, everything will return to normal. I really want the war to end as soon as possible, for people to be free, for parents not to bury their children. This is the most important thing. And as a coach, I expect changes for the better in our football.

I would like the Ukrainian championship to be full-fledged and finally achieve some kind of stability. And also for the Ukrainian national team to successfully pass the World Cup play-off tests and please the fans as often as possible. I also really want the football players in our club to have a good future, to become real football masters, to gain recognition and to be invited to various national teams.
