Garanin spoke about the negotiations with the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region

Yenisei head coach Vadim Garanin told RB Sport about the meeting with the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Gleb Nikitin.

“Yes, it’s true,” Garanin noted. – This meeting was just before the start of specific communication with Yenisei.

— It is not standard when a governor, a politician appoints a coach.

So he takes responsibility. It happens that club presidents who are not completely familiar with football details choose the coaching staff. They have assistants who offer some ideas. The choice still remains with the most important person in the hierarchy of the club. In Nizhny Novgorod, the governor lives by this, helping regional sports. When we met, a lot was said about hockey, the academy, the second team. A person is so in the subject that he has the right, after listening to his assistants, to choose a coach.

– What were his requirements for a new coach?

– He wanted the club to develop not only in terms of infrastructure and reserve training, but also in terms of results. In sports, without it, nowhere. You can play very well, but be in the middle of the table, or stand behind, play counterattacks and win medals. We want to play our philosophy and achieve results. The governor really wants the club to rise higher and does a lot for this.

Last fall, Garanin was fired from his post as head coach of Sochi. In January, the specialist, together with his coaching staff, returned to the Krasnoyarsk Enisey, where he worked before leaving for Sochi.

After 22 rounds, Enisey takes the fourth place in the MELBET First League.

Bulykin named the position that Spartak needs to strengthen

Former Russian national football player Dmitry Bulykin expressed his opinion on how Spartak could strengthen during the winter window.

What kind of player does Spartak need in the winter transfer window? First of all, another goalscoring striker. They are already in a good position and can fight for the championship, but due to the atmosphere in the team there were disagreements.

Now we need a good coach who unites them with a single goal and task. If I were in Spartak, I would find another goalscoring striker in the winter and fight for the championship.

Amorim explains Casemiro’s surprise substitution against Newcastle

Mentor Manchester United Reuben Amorim he said he replaced the midfielder Casemiro during the 1–0 win over Newcastle United because he felt the Brazilian would “struggle” with the intensity of the second half.

Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte formed United’s midfield duo in the absence of Bruno Fernandes, who missed the match with a hamstring injury, but Amorim replaced the Brazilian with Leni Yoro in the 61st minute.

After seeing his number on the substitution board, Casemiro pointed to himself and was disappointed with Amorim’s decision to replace him so early in the match.

Asked to explain Casemiro’s substitution, Amorim replied: “At that moment I didn’t want to shoot [Матеуса] Cunho because he is the only one who allows us to be creative and I put him in position number 10. Jack [Флетчер] it was fresh and could continue, Manu [Угарте] he was cooler than Casemiro. In the end we decided to replace him because they were making a lot of quick passes and I felt that at that point he would have difficulty.”
