“When the leadership changed at Rubin, the topic of my appointment was quietly closed” – Garanin
Yenisei head coach Vadim Garanin told RB Sport that negotiations on his possible arrival at Rubin Kazan ended with a change in the club’s leadership.
In December, Garanin was one of the main candidates for the post of head coach of Rubin. An option was considered in which Yury Utkulbaev would become the de jure head coach, and Garanin would lead the team de facto. However, at the end of the month, the leadership of the club changed, due to which negotiations with Garanin stopped.
“I negotiated with the old leadership,” Garanin noted. – We even met with Yura Utkulbaev, talked. The leaders wanted us all to be on the coaching staff together. But then, when there were changes, the topic was quietly and peacefully closed.
– Did you go to the new leadership?
How could I get to them? Say: we talked with the former leaders, let’s talk with you? Of course not. And I don’t have agents. There are friends who work in different agency circles, good relations with them. But my communication with Nizhny, Rubin and Yenisei was directly with the management.
Garanin works for Yenisei, which, after 22 rounds, ranks fourth in the MELBET First League.
