CSKA entered the match with Wings of the Soviets in the 19th round of the WORLD RPL set to win, Denis Mashkarin, a former midfielder of CSKA, now a breeder of the army club, told RB Sport.

CSKA defeated Krylya Sovetov 4-0 on Sunday. Anton Zabolotny, Ivan Oblyakov, Fedor Chalov and Willian Rocha distinguished themselves in the army team.

– After the defeat in Sochi for the match against Krylya Sovetov, the army team came out very tuned and motivated, it was clear that the mood was only for victory – good movement, good fight. And in principle, the game was decided in the first half – by the 25th minute two goals were scored, and the third goal of Chalov summed up the active game in the attack of CSKA in the first half.

– But there was a feeling that the “Wings” did not play as confidently as they could, roughly speaking, in some moments they “brought” themselves …

— CSKA played high, in high pressure. A striking example of this is the second ball. They covered the opponent’s player in the support zone, immediately Oblyakov “fell out” one on one and decided. CSKA players understood that Krylya Sovetov combined well, got out of the attack well, and tried to immediately deprive the ball, “cover”. Plus, Fedotov correctly prepared the team in terms of tactics – he deprived the opponent of his main trump cards. Yes, the Samara team made a lot of mistakes, but CSKA’s play, pressing on the opponent’s half of the field, contributed to this.

– Ahead of the army you rarely see a bunch of Zabolotny and Chalov. What do you attribute this staffing decision to? Strengthen the attacking potential? Or somehow simplify the game in such weather conditions?

– Yes, the weather conditions were really difficult, and Anton Zabolotny is famous for actively imposing a fight on the defenders, playing well “on the second floor”. And in such weather, the standards decided a lot. So the coaches chose Zabolotny in the starting lineup, as they probably assumed that there would be a lot of struggle. And Anton scored with a header, so the coaching staff guessed right. Plus, he took part in the third goal, so he was very productive in this meeting, like Chalov. Both forwards justified their presence on the field.

– What, by the way, do you associate this productivity of Zabolotny with?

– I think that’s just his conditions. That was not the day of Beckham, but the day of Anton Zabolotny. It happens that the athlete is lucky. Because the goal he scored is not easy at all. After the rebound, Anton did not turn off, “caught” the ball with his head at the penalty mark, that is, he was collected, concentrated in this moment. I think all the fans and teammates believe in Anton, this match will certainly add to his confidence. I hope he scores in every game.

CSKA is fifth in the table with 32 points. In the next round, Vladimir Fedotov’s team will host Zenit in Moscow.
