The Russian goalkeeper of the Greek “Panathinaikos” Yuri Lodygin said that he became better than when he played for the St. Petersburg “Zenith” in Russia.

Lodygin played for Zenit from 2013 to 2019.

Are you stronger now than when you were a Zenit player?

– Certainly. I got better. But it couldn’t be otherwise. If you ask me if I would change something if I could turn back time, I will answer you – no. I know that I made mistakes. And I’m not talking about the football field. There will always be mistakes. I’m talking about moments when driven psychologically. It was hard. But I wouldn’t change a thing. I had to go through this. I should have made the wrong choice and went to Turkey. There I learned a lot. How football works there, how agents work. Before signing a contract with Gaziantep, I felt that I did not want to go there. I had pressure inside me.

But they told me that I would play there – against Fenerbahce, Galatasaray, a good championship, normal practice. But I really didn’t want to. I thought: “Where am I going? For what?” But it’s also an experience. The next time, if I had similar emotions, I didn’t switch. The whole experience was helpful. Both Tula and PAS Yanina, Sport24 quotes Lodygin.
