The head of the Brazilian Football Confederation: “We have an obligation to fight racism”

President of the Brazilian Football Federation (CB extension) Ednaldo Rodriguez commented on the manifestation of racism against the Real Madrid striker Vinicius Junior.

We are perplexed. An athlete like Vinicius shouldn’t be subjected to racial slurs nearly every week. We reported him to the Spanish federation because he is wrong. The government contacted us and the Brazilian justice minister sent a letter to the Spanish justice minister asking him to understand the situation and take action.

We must fight racism with determination. The situation repeats itself over and over again. We will go to all courts to defend Vinicius or any other Brazilian athlete who is being abused.
