Former Zenit football player Vladimir Bystrov said that the chief referee Yevgeny Kukulyak “should have seen perfectly” the moment with the participation of the midfielder of the St. Petersburg club Claudinho and the forward of the Moscow Dynamo Konstantin Tyukavin in the match of the second stage of the ¼ finals of the Way of the Regions FONBET Cup of Russia.
The meeting was held on Wednesday in St. Petersburg and ended with the victory of the “white and blue” in the penalty shootout. In the second half, in the penalty area of Zenit, Claudinho hit Tukavin on the leg. Kukulyak watched the episode after the VAR prompt, but did not record a rule violation. On Thursday, following the meeting of the RFU ESC, the head of the RFU refereeing department, Pavel Kamantsev, told Match TV that the commission’s decision on the episode was unanimous: a penalty should have been awarded. As a result, it was decided to remove Kukulyak from work for some time.
– Yesterday’s moment with Claudinho and Tyukavin is obvious to me. The referee was five meters from the moment, he should have seen everything perfectly. Claudinho missed the ball, hit the leg, Tyukavin immediately fell – this is a penalty. If Tyukavin took a few steps, and then fell, trying to feign, it would not be a penalty, ”Championship” quotes Bystrov.
