Former Spartak doctor: “We need to call Miranchuk and Golovin to the national team, and then let go”

Former Spartak doctor Vladimir Zotkin told RB Sport about the severity of injuries to Torino midfielder Alexei Miranchuk and Monaco midfielder Alexander Golovin.

Miranchuk has an injury to the adductor muscle of the thigh, while Golovin has discomfort in the adductor muscle of the thigh.

– If there is something, then it can be determined by ultrasound. The team doctor must know and determine all this himself,” said Vladimir Zotkin.

– Miranchuk and Golovin will not come to the Russian team. You can’t check if there were really serious injuries.

Why won’t they come? You have to call and then let go. I worked a lot in clubs. I know this situation and understand. When the players had minor injuries and they were called, they were told: “Go, but tell the doctor right away that you have an injury.” And then they came back to us.

– They have already said that Miranchuk and Golovin will not come to the Russian team.

They won’t come and they won’t. This is the decision of the club and the national team coach.

– How serious is the injury to the adductor thigh muscle?

– She’s serious. Then the muscle will tear, and it will be necessary to treat for three months.

– Is it better to take a break now so as not to aggravate the injury?

– Certainly. Now it is better to recover, and then release a healthy player.

How quickly can you recover from this injury?

– If microtrauma – quickly, if moderate – a little longer, if partial damage, rupture – up to two months.

– How many with microtrauma?

– A week and a half or two.

– If the Russian team had to play an official match, would these injuries become a problem?

– Certainly. There is no point in risking human health. It is better to prevent an injury than to treat it later. And then scars appear, around them the muscles again begin to be injured. When I worked in a team, and we bought a player, if he had some other scars along the scars, he said that it was better not to buy him. He will get hurt. And we will pay money for it. And then what to do?

The training camp of the national team will be held from 19 to 27 March. The RFU previously announced a match between the national teams of Russia and Iran, the game will be held on March 23 in Tehran. It is also expected that three days later the team of Valery Karpin in St. Petersburg will meet with the national team of Iraq.
