Iran national team confirms that Azmoun will not play against Russia
Leverkusen striker “Bayer” and the Iranian national team Serdar Azmoun will miss the friendly match with the Russian national football team, the press service of the Iranian national team confirmed.
Earlier, the Iranian played in Russia for Rubin Kazan, Rostov and Zenit St. Petersburg.
– Serdar Azmoun will not take part in the March training camp of the Iranian national team. Thus, the striker will miss the friendly match against the Russian team. The reason is the personal circumstances of the player, which we are not at liberty to disclose, – Sport24 was told in the press service of the Iranian national team.
The training camp of the Russian national team will be held from 19 to 27 March. The RFU previously announced a match between the national teams of Russia and Iran, the game will be held on March 23 in Tehran. It is also expected that on March 27, the team of Valery Karpin in St. Petersburg will meet with the national team of Iraq.
