The Dutch prosecutor’s office has demanded a 3.5-year sentence for Ural footballer Ray Vlut for a fatal accident, Sportnieuws reports.

In November 2021, a Dutch footballer crashed into a car at high speed, where there was a family with two small children. The four-year-old boy did not survive the accident.

Vloot was driving at about 203 kilometers per hour, he did not slow down and did not try to avoid a collision. Driving this fast is a conscious choice. And the suspect did everything possible to avoid punishment shortly after the accident, the prosecutor said.

In January 2022, the Dutch media found out new circumstances: according to a police report, Vloet and his friend, who was in the car, were drunk – both of them had exceeded the permissible blood alcohol limit twice.

Vloot’s former club Heracles (Netherlands) suspended him after it was revealed the player had lied about the accident. Vloot said he kept the speed limit and did not drive while intoxicated.

Vloot joined Ural in September 2022 from Astana. The forward signed a contract with the Russian club for 2.5 years.
