Lokomotiv defender Nair Tiknizyan told Metaratings.ru that he is ready to do everything possible for the Armenian national football team to enter a major international tournament.
Tiknizyan received an Armenian passport and will be able to play for the national team of this country in the Euro 2024 qualifying match against the Turkish team, which will be held on March 25.
– Recently, at big tournaments, we saw Iceland, Finland, North Macedonia. Do you believe that Armenia will make its debut at the Euro or the World Cup in the coming years?
– Indeed, football in recent years shows that discipline beats class. It doesn’t matter which team will oppose. If you give yourself completely to the game, you can beat any team. I have no doubt that we will have a chance to qualify for a big tournament someday. I will do everything so that the Armenian people someday celebrate the entry of the national team to the Euro or the World Cup,” Tiknizyan said.
Tiknizyan is an ethnic Armenian born in St. Petersburg. Previously, he played for the national teams of Russia under 19 (5 matches), under 20 (4 matches) and under 21 (7 matches).
