Ronaldo holds the world record for most appearances for the national team

The Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo became the world record holder for the number of matches for the national football team.
On Thursday, the 38-year-old forward started the UEFA Euro 2024 qualifier at home against Liechtenstein in the Portuguese starting lineup. For Ronaldo, this is 197 matches for the team, he surpassed the achievement of the Kuwaiti footballer Bader al-Mutawa (196).
Ronaldo, who plays for Saudi Al-Nasr, also holds the world record for goals for the national team – 118.
