Russian coach Alexander Borodyuk saw many problems in the game of the Russian national team in a friendly match with the Iranian team.
The meeting was held yesterday in Tehran and ended in a draw with a score of 1:1.
– If we talk about the game, of course, there are a lot of problems. Problems in teamwork. Playing with such an opponent shows at what level a friendly match should take place. I would like the national team to learn how to play for the result. Many say that the result is unimportant. The result matters! The team develops a mentality. Yesterday our team was inferior in martial arts and physically. There is also much work to be done in this regard. You need to think much faster on the football field. Such matches show where there are problems. The coaching staff will analyze and draw conclusions. Iran is a good opponent.
Our players have tried their best. The desire was visible. But they were inferior in certain football components. When the resistance level is different, problems are visible. We need such matches – the potential of the players who are invited to the national team is visible. Needless to say, the result is unimportant. In friendly matches, both the result and the game are important. Motivation in matches for the national team should be outrageous! We have not played at this level for a long time – we need to negotiate with such opponents and play in order to see the potential of our team. A 1:1 result can be called normal. But in terms of play, there is still a lot of work to be done. When you go out to play any match for the national team, it is very important, – quotes Borodyuk “Championship”.
The Russian national team will play the next match on March 26 against the Iraqi team in St. Petersburg. Watch the live broadcast from 17:00 Moscow time on Match TV and matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru websites.
