The Italian prosecutor discovered the correspondence of the leadership of Juventus on secret agreements with Ronaldo – media

Investigations into Juventus players’ salary agreements have unearthed correspondence between the club’s directors, in which they confirmed that striker Cristiano Ronaldo had signed secret documents with the club, La Gazzetta dello Sport reported.

The prosecutor’s office in Turin continues to study the financial policy of the Bianconeri over the past few years: the Turin club hid the real salaries of players and paid them money during the coronavirus pandemic.

The investigation revealed a conversation between several leaders of Juventus in the messenger, in which they discussed the situation with the wages of Ronaldo. On April 23, 2021, club secretary Paolo Morganti wrote in a group: “Second salary item, Cristiano signed. He has copies of all documents. Sports Director Federico Cherubini then replied: “Good!”

In the same conversation, Juventus head of legal Cesare Gabasio previously confirmed: “The first person to sign is Cristiano.”

Cristiano Ronaldo allegedly forfeited €19.9m in wages in the 2020/21 season, in the early stages of the coronavirus pandemic, and prosecutors in Turin believe the club privately agreed to pay the amount to the Portuguese, despite the announcement of his decision to freeze wages for several months.

Earlier, the Portuguese’s lawyers denied that the player had signed and kept a copy of this agreement. They insisted that he limited himself to signing forms regarding the waiver of four months’ wages, with a promise to return them within the next seasons. Ronaldo also stated that he still has not received the money owed to him.
