Football coach Gadzhi Gadzhiev, after the victory of the Russian team over the Iraqi team in a friendly match, noted that one should not look arrogantly at their rivals.
The Russian national team on Sunday in St. Petersburg in a friendly match defeated the Iraqi team with a score of 2:0. The score was opened by Anton Miranchuk in the 50th minute. Sergey Pinyaev doubled his advantage on the 58th.
– About the game of the goalkeeper: such mistakes are absolutely impossible to make! In a difficult situation, you don’t need to invent anything, because you create problems at your gate. In the first half and in the second, we played better in attack than in defense. Especially on the flanks, they created a lot of chances. Pinyaev, Oblyakov and Litvinov played well. In general, we played decently, sometimes there were interesting attacks, but there were unreasonable losses of the ball. If we talk about the pros, this game stands out from all the previous ones.
Very often, our estimates of our own team are overestimated, and the opponent’s are underestimated. Of course, when Spain, France, England play, we call them top teams. But we look at Iraq, Iran, Uzbekistan differently. Today, everyone has learned to play football – and at a good level. Iraq has surpassed us in the pace and development of the game. No need to be arrogant about the commands. We played with good teams. And they played to the best of their ability. Those comments that were on the game with Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, and these are the burning eyes of the players, are justified. Yesterday there was a different game, just like with Iran,” Hajiyev told Sport24.
