Investigators have completed the investigation of a criminal case on the fact of embezzlement of funds by the former management of the Tambov football club, the press service of the investigation department of the Russian Investigative Committee for the Tambov region reports.
In the case, former general and sports directors of the football club Olga Konovalova and Pavel Khudyakov are accused. The accusation concerns articles 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Fraud” and 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Assignment and embezzlement”.
Earlier, Konovalova and Khudyakov were detained.
— The investigation established that the defendants carried out fictitious employment of the former wife of the sports director as an accountant of the club, who was paid wages from June 2019 to June 2021, thereby causing material damage to the club and its founder in the amount of more than 800 thousand rubles.
In addition, these persons embezzled the club’s funds in the amount of about 500 thousand rubles, paying for their acquaintances to attend matches of the football club.
In addition, the defendants stole funds in the amount of more than 4 million rubles allocated to the club as a budget subsidy under the “Development of Physical Culture and Sports” program, thereby causing damage to the Ministry of Sports of the region for the specified amount, the statement of the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee of Russia on Tambov region.
According to the investigation, Khudyakov stole 2.7 million rubles, received as salaries to the club’s employees, and also fictitiously hired his ex-wife as an accountant and caused damage in the amount of 800 thousand rubles. Konovalova is accused of embezzlement of 1.7 million rubles.
In May 2021, it was announced that Tambov had ceased to exist.
