The International Football Federation (FIFA) has stripped Indonesia of the right to host the 2023 FIFA Youth World Cup, according to the FIFA website.

The decision was made following a meeting between FIFA President Gianni Infantino and the head of the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI), Eric Tohir. The new host country of the tournament will be determined in the near future.

– FIFA would like to emphasize that, despite this decision, it remains committed to actively assist PSSI in the process of transforming Indonesian football after the tragedy of October 2022. Members of the FIFA team will continue to be present in Indonesia in the coming months and will provide the necessary assistance to PSSI, the statement said.

Earlier in March, the draw for the group stage of the World Youth Championship was canceled due to the appeal of the governor of Bali to prevent the Israeli team from participating in the tournament.
