Borussia Dortmund have a real chance of breaking Bayern’s hegemony in the Bundesliga for the first time in ten seasons. In case of victory in a head-to-head confrontation, the “black-and-yellows” could break away from their main rivals by as much as five points. However, from the very first minutes of the match in Munich, it became clear that it would not be possible to maintain leadership in the championship race. The trouble came from where they did not expect.

Borussia wisely took advantage of Bayern’s latest misfires in the championship. Before the head-to-head match within the 26th round, Edin Terzic’s team was in the lead in the Bundesliga table. True, the advantage over Munich was only one point.
The recent successes of the team from Dortmund are largely due to the brilliant play of goalkeeper Gregor Kobel. This season, the goalkeeper of the “black-and-yellows” left the field eight times without conceding goals. The Swiss also ranks third in the championship in terms of the average number of saves per game – 3.6.
This winter, Bayern even wanted to buy Kobel to replace the injured Manuel Neuer. It even came to substantive negotiations, but in the end the Munich club preferred another Swiss – Jan Sommer.

In the game with Bayern, high hopes were pinned on Gregor: both from the fans and from the coaching staff of Borussia. But, unfortunately, it was the goalkeeper who became not only the culprit, but also the author of the first missed goal!

“I have no idea how the ball slipped in there. It was incredible shit, to be honest. There are just shitty days, today was one of them. Of course, the goal is definitely mine, and it hurts a lot, ”Kobel said on Sky Sports after the match.
The goal was credited to Kobel, but in this situation one can also mark Dayo Upamecano, who made a fatal cutting pass. In fact, the goal could have been given to the defender of Bavarim: in the end, the ball flew into the target. If it weren’t for the goalkeeper’s kicks, we would have discussed the crazy ball scored from our own half of the field.
After the stupidest importation, the team naturally fell down. In ten minutes Dortmund missed two more times. In total, there were four goals in Kobel’s goal. Only after that, Borussia was able to print the opponent’s goal, scoring twice. But it was already too late. Sad result: the “black-and-yellows” are inferior in the main match of the season.
