“We were talking about terminating the contract with Khimki before the incident with Gogniev” – Tikhiy

Former Khimki captain Dmitry Tikhiy told RB Sport that the termination of his contract with the Moscow Region club was not related to the incident with the team’s head coach Spartak Gogniev.

On Friday, Khimki announced that they had terminated the contract with Tikhoy by mutual agreement of the parties. Earlier, journalist Ivan Karpov published a recording on which Gogniev was heard emotionally communicating with Tikhim and Ayaz Guliyev, who were suspended from training with the main team. Tihiy later confirmed to Metaratings.ru the authenticity of the audio recording. According to the player, the specialist “slinged mud at them and did not apologize.”

“Everyone has their own way,” Tikhiy emphasized. – We calmly and peacefully terminated the employment contract by mutual agreement of the parties, agreed with the shareholder and the management of the club. No complaints, moving on. I would like to thank the club as a whole and our Khimki fans in particular from the bottom of my heart. The club has become my home for four years. I have great respect for the fans and their support.

– Did the situation with the conflict with Gogniev after the leaked audio recording greatly affect your final departure?

– We have already talked and agreed before all these situations. So I don’t want to talk about this incident.

But did you make your final decision then?

— It was not my decision. It is mutual. Hands shook and parted.

Tihiy has been playing for Khimki since 2019 and has since made over 100 appearances for the team. This season he has played 10 matches and received two yellow cards.

Anatoly TRUBIN: “Rebrov decided to sacrifice him”

Goalkeeper of the Ukrainian national team Anatoly Trubin I remembered the match against France (0:4) when Sergei Rebrov released the semi-reserve squad.

“It was the coach’s choice. It is always the coach who decides whether the match will be sacrificed or not. If we talk about the challenge itself, we all understand the strength of France. I understood that there could be a lot of shots, there could be a lot of chances, and I was ready for it. When the opponent is always with the ball, constantly attacking, you are always in the game: you play in sections, you react, you constantly feel the rhythm.

For me personally, it’s even easier than when your team is attacking most of the time and you’re standing idle and suddenly there’s a moment where you have to be ready,” Trubin said.
