Yuran is one of those coaches who succeed for a while, and then it goes downhill, says Lovchev

Former Spartak footballer Yevgeny Lovchev appreciated the appointment of Sergei Yuran to the post of head coach of PARI NN, noting that he considers him an interesting specialist, but one of those whose results decline after a while.

On Tuesday, the Nizhny Novgorod club announced the termination of the contract with Artem Gorlov and the appointment of Yuran to the position of head coach.

– Let’s say this: a coach is an experience. Now there are no such specialists as there were in my younger years, such as Beskov, Lobanovsky, Simonyan, Kachalin. These are coaches who have been working for 30 years. Now they put everyone in, and six months later they shoot them, as it happens in Khimki, as in PARI NN. There is a whole galaxy of such coaches: Rashid Rakhimov, Igor Shalimov, Andrey Talalaev. Someone somewhere gets some time, and then everything goes into decline. Juran is one of those coaches. He is undoubtedly a knowledgeable person who did well in Khimki, and I still don’t understand why he was fired. Therefore, the question is still what team he comes to, how money is spent on buying players, what is the vector of development and, most importantly, how they treat coaches. You can’t say “he will succeed, because he is Yuran”. I can’t say that. But the fact that he is an interesting coach is without a doubt, ”Lovchev said in an interview with RT.

PARI NN is 13th in the WORLD RPL standings with 19 points in 21 matches. In the next round, Nizhny Novgorod will play away with Krasnodar on April 9.

INFANTINO: “If there was no FIFA, there would be no football in 150 countries of the world”

FIFA President Gianni Infantino He commented on World Cup ticket prices, saying they reflected “absolutely insane” demand for next summer’s tournament:

“We have six to seven million tickets and in 15 days we received 150 million ticket requests. So every day we have 10 million requests. This shows how strong the World Cup is.”

FIFA has sold just 44 million tickets in almost 100 years of the World Cup. So we were able to sell tickets for the 300th anniversary of the World Cup in two weeks. Just imagine. “This is absolutely crazy.”

Infantino also noted that funds from ticket sales would be reinvested into world football, but did not specify a specific amount:

“The important thing is that the revenue from this goes back into football around the world. If it weren’t for FIFA, there would be no football in 150 countries of the world. Football exists thanks to the revenues we get from the World Cup, and we reinvest that into football around the world.”

Previously, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer called on FIFA to further reduce 2026 World Cup ticket prices.
