Mexican referee was suspended for 12 matches due to a knee to the groin
The Mexican Football Federation (FMF) has suspended 12 matches of referee Fernando Hernandez.
During the match of the 13th round of the major league of Mexico between the clubs “Leon” and “America” (2:2), which took place on April 1, Hernandez hit the midfielder of the hosts Lucas Romero in the groin when the player demanded that the episode with the opponent’s goal be reviewed on VAR.
– Fernando Hernandez is being punished by a disciplinary commission in the form of a 12-match ban for violating the FMF sanctions clause (violent actions against a player), the federation’s website said in a statement.
It is noted that in the event of a repeated violation of the regulations, Hernandez faces an even more serious punishment.
