Sochi was supposed to give Berdyev 100 days to work, says Riancho

Kurban Berdyev’s assistant at Rubin, Raul Riancho, told RB Sport that he considers the resignation of a 70-year-old specialist from Sochi to be an illogical decision.

The press service of Sochi on Monday announced that Kurban Berdyev had left the post of head coach of the team. Dmitry Khokhlov, who joined the club’s headquarters in January, became the acting head coach.

“Changing the dynamics of a team that was not created by a coach takes time. At the very least, Sochi had to give Berdyev 100 days to work with the team. I think that they did not have enough patience, Kurban is a great coach, and I am sure that if he had been given time, he would have achieved optimal results in Sochi.

I think that Kurban is an ideal coach for many Russian teams. He knows your players, Russian football and he has an understanding of how to get the best out of his players. Dismissing a coach after five games is not a very logical decision! Yes, and with the aggravating circumstance that the coach did not build this team, – said Riancho.

Berdyev headed Sochi at the end of last year, signing a contract for 2.5 years. Under the guidance of a 70-year-old specialist, the team played five matches in the RPL, in which they defeated CSKA (2: 0) and Dynamo (2: 0), and also lost to Orenburg (0: 4), Fakel ( 0:3) and “Wings of the Soviets” (1:2).

Sochi is ninth in the WORLD RPL standings with 31 points.
