UEFA Cup winner Igor Korneev on Match TV praised Khimki for appointing Andrey Talalaev as head coach of the club.
Talalaev’s appointment to Khimki became known earlier on Tuesday. The general director of the club, Nikolai Olenev, told Match TV that the contract with the specialist is for 5 years.
– Finally, we got positive feedback from Khimki. A very good decision. The coach proved his worth. In Torpedo, apparently, they are thinking more about 2026, the new stadium, and Talalaev understands that one must live here and now, ”Korneev said on Match TV.
Talalaev replaced Rinat Bilyaletdinov at Khimki, who was appointed acting head coach after the resignation of Spartak Gogniev. In the course of this season, Talalaev was dismissed at Akhmat and left Torpedo by mutual agreement of the parties.
The Moscow region club with 13 points is on the 15th line in the WORLD RPL standings.
