The former goalkeeper of the Russian national team Vladimir Gabulov called the possible admission of the Crimean clubs to official competitions correct.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko, at a meeting with President Vladimir Putin, said that an agreement had been reached with the RFU on the inclusion of Crimean clubs in the structure of Russian football.

– If the RFU is really discussing such a decision, then I believe that this will be a serious and strong-willed decision, which the Crimean fans have been waiting for a very long time. If it was discussed, then surely there were specific consultations with UEFA and FIFA, and the consequences of this decision were taken into account by the RFU. From my point of view, in the conditions in which our football is now, it is absolutely the right decision to accept Crimean clubs in our championships. It is in the interests of Russia. I support this step as a football fan and as a specialist, – said Gabulov RT.

He also spoke about the prospects for the development of the Crimean football in case of licensing.

– A definite plus is that Crimea is one of the most important regions in our country, which will be represented by many clubs. It is clear that after obtaining a license, these clubs will need to do a lot of work: scrupulously work at all levels – from children’s football to large offices. So from the point of view of the development of Russian football, this is the right step in terms of infrastructure. And more players will get a chance to prove themselves at a high level,” Gabulov said.
