“There are almost no players like Akinfeev in the world” – Dudu

Former CSKA player Dudu told RB Sport that his ex-teammate Igor Akinfeev could play in the best European clubs.

– Akinfeev turned 37 years old, and he is still considered the best goalkeeper in Russia. How do you remember him?

“He was always the leader of CSKA, we spent a lot of time together,” says Dudu. – Akinfeev is one of the best goalkeepers in Europe. Of course, he could play in the best European clubs, but his decision to play only for CSKA was better than leaving for England or another country. There are almost no players like Igor in the world.

– You are a financial strategist. In Russia, the topic of the salaries of Russian players is often discussed. According to many fans, footballers earn undeservedly more than they deserve. After all, you were also at CSKA at a young age on a big salary, the question is: how can a young player not catch a star, as is often the case in Russia?

– Of course, when they start buying expensive cars and other precious things, they can relax a little. But here psychology plays an important role: a football player must understand that his career is not eternal and you need to be able to save money. A great example is Akinfeev. He was to this day, I think, remains a smart person: he made his debut at an early age, became a star, did not get into any scandals, and most likely everything is in order with money.

Akinfeev made his debut for the main team of CSKA in 2003. As part of the army team, the goalkeeper won the Russian Championship six times, became the six-time winner of the Russian Cup, and also won the UEFA Cup.
