“There were many circumstances, but the choice was made” – Sazonov on the choice between the national teams of Russia and Georgia

Dynamo Moscow defender Saba Sazonov said that he had been negotiating to play for the Russian national team, but opted for the Georgian national team.
21-year-old Sazonov was born in St. Petersburg. The footballer’s mother is Georgian, and his father is Russian. In September last year, the player refused to be called up to the Russian youth team, and then took part in two friendly matches of the Georgian national team.
— You had to choose between Russia and Georgia.
– I was contacted from both teams. There were many circumstances. But the choice has been made,” Sazonov said in an interview with Sport24.
Sazonov has played 28 games for Dynamo this season.
