Kokorin is ready to sacrifice money in order not to play in Russia. Why bother?

Alexander has already earned his own. Now you can set records in the championship of Cyprus.

The lease term of Alexander Kokorin in the Cypriot “Aris” is coming to an end. There is a possibility that at the end of the season, the 32-year-old Russian will have to return to Fiorentina. The striker himself, according to the media, would like to stay in the Cypriot Aris.

For this, Alexander is even ready to sacrifice his salary!

“Pay doesn’t matter”

Kokorin is having a good season in Cyprus. In 25 official matches, the footballer scored 11 goals and scored six assists. However, by the summer the lease term will come to an end and the Russian will have to return to Serie A, where, at best, he will have a place on the bench. Apparently, this development of events does not suit Alexander too much. He has already got used to the role of the first guy in the village.

– Reports that Alexander Kokorin will definitely not stay at Aris and return to Fiorentina are not true. Kokorin shows himself well in Cyprus, and he likes to play for Aris. The salary also does not matter much, Kokorin is ready to go down in financial conditions, a source close to Fiorentina told Sport24.

It is unlikely that Aris will have to pay some fabulous money for Kokorin. The authoritative portal Transfermarkt estimates the Russian at 800 thousand euros, and the player’s contract with the Violets ends in a year, so the Cypriot club can count on a discount. Perhaps even any middle peasant in the RPL could, if desired, pull the potential transfer of their favorite Fabio Capello. However, Kokorin himself, apparently, is not eager to go home.

Local star

Is it possible to return to Russia? No, Kokorin said in an interview with Foot Mercato in January.

Alexander then justified his categoricalness with a contract with Fiorentina until 2024. However, who in modern football was hindered by a valid contract, if somewhere there were more attractive prospects?

How can you explain the reluctance to return to the RPL? Is it really the lack of European competition? It is unlikely, because they don’t particularly shine for Kokorin in Cyprus either. Rather, Alexander understands that it will be much more difficult for him to show high performance in Russia.

And the reputation of a football player in our country is not very good. At the very first failures on the football field, the fans will instantly remember Kokorin’s past sins. In Aris, the fans are much more supportive of their scorer. As for the salary, Kokorin probably managed to put together a good capital over the years of his career.

In one of the interviews, the footballer admitted that he earned the most among Russian players. According to journalists, the total amount of Kokorin’s savings before moving to Aris could be from 30 to 40 million euros!

Therefore, Kokorin is hardly worth worrying about a possible decrease in income at the end of his career. Alexander can safely enjoy the Mediterranean weather and not tear his veins on the football field, proving his worth.

Vladimir SHARAN: “The Swedes were too weak at the New Year’s table”

For many, the coming year is associated with bright hopes and expectations of changes for the better in life and work. The famous football coach is no exception. Vladimir SharanShared with the reporter Spor.ua Statements about the New Year theme.

    – Until what age did you believe in Santa Claus?

    – I don’t even remember. Probably up to age six. No more. Until I went to school.

    – What is the most unusual New Year celebration in your life?

    – The most unusual and extraordinary was the New Year, which I spent in Israel during my stay as a player in the USSR youth team. An international tournament was organized in this country, in which our team participated. It’s plus twenty outside and we’re celebrating the new year in shorts and T-shirts.

The next day we had to play against the Swedish national team in the final. The Swedes sat next to our table on New Year’s Eve, they saw how we relaxed, and how we relaxed. Believe me, we rested much better and played much better (smiles). As it turned out, the Swedes were very weak at the festive table. We won the final match 2-0.

    – As a Ukrainian citizen and a football coach, what do you expect from the new year 2026?

    – To be honest, everyone is waiting for one thing; peace. And I’m not the only one who can say that. If there is peace, everything will return to normal. I really want the war to end as soon as possible, for people to be free, for parents not to bury their children. This is the most important thing. And as a coach, I expect changes for the better in our football.

I would like the Ukrainian championship to be full-fledged and finally achieve some kind of stability. And also for the Ukrainian national team to successfully pass the World Cup play-off tests and please the fans as often as possible. I also really want the football players in our club to have a good future, to become real football masters, to gain recognition and to be invited to various national teams.
