Former Torpedo coach Andrey Gordeev told RB Sport that there is intrigue for him in the black and white match against Spartak in the 23rd round of the WORLD RPL.

The meeting will take place at the Luzhniki stadium on Saturday. Spartak is third in the WORLD RPL standings with 42 points, Torpedo closes the table with 13 points.

– The players note that under the new coach they have become liberated, some kind of internal team confidence has appeared. And for me it’s not a secret that “Torpedo” must keep a residence permit in the RPL. And the first aftertaste from Clotet’s work is that everything should go and everything should work out. He had little time, but the coaching staff still partly modified the game. Let’s see if they continue to play as two central defenders, or if it was because of some personnel problems. We played well with Fakel, our direct competitor. But with him it was necessary to score points. And now, before the match with Spartak, the X-hour is just coming – what we are still capable of. Not even in terms of the result, but some kind of interaction that can happen. For me, this is a match with intrigue,” Gordeev said.

— Yes, the Red-Whites have not been doing well in recent matches in terms of results. And Torpedo, on the contrary, is on an emotional upsurge. And in such a situation, we can take points from the leaders. But I don’t expect any super coaching decisions with the prefix “wow”. The work is going on, it is bearing fruit, and then we’ll see.
