Russian and Armenian goalkeeper Stanislav Buchnev, who played for Fakel in the 2019/2020 season, noted the interest in football in Voronezh.

– Everything depends on the results. Before that, there had been a strong team in Voronezh for four or five years. But the debts piled up over the years. A new leadership has come, enlisted the support of the governor. The debts were closed, but not a single person remained in the team. All contracts ended. We decided not to leave anyone. The payroll was completely closed and the team began to assemble again, from scratch. 17 days before the start of the season. It is clear that people went to the stadium differently than they do to the Premier League now, but by the standards of the FNL there were a lot of spectators. For the cup game with Arsenal, the stadium was full. For them, it is their main rival.
