Referee Sergey Karasev canceled a penalty against Zenit St. Petersburg in the second half of the match of the 23rd round of the Russian Championship against Rostov after using the VAR system.
Initially, a 11-meter kick was awarded for a violation of defender Douglas Santos against Kirill Shchetinin. After watching the video of the episode, the judges came to the conclusion that the foul was committed outside the penalty area, a penalty was awarded. There were two balls on the field at that moment.
