Zenit head coach Sergei Semak said that the Blue-White-Blues lost concentration at the end of the WORLD match of the Russian Premier League (RPL) with Rostov.
On Sunday, Zenit played a draw with Rostov on the road with a score of 0:0. Defender of the hosts Denis Terentiev could have opened the scoring in the last minute of the match with a header, but the footballer of the St. Petersburg team Douglas Santos knocked the ball out of the goalkeeper’s area.
– There are such matches when the ball does not go into the goal. I can’t say that we created many chances. Yes, they were, but failed to implement. Of course, the result is not satisfied.
The second half was good with regards to the quality of the game, except for the last moment. We missed, we already beat a minute, but it doesn’t matter, we need to keep our concentration until the final whistle. We are upset. We always want to win. In the first half we didn’t play as actively as we wanted.
Why change players when everyone looks good and creates chances? The only thing that was missing was goals scored, ”Match TV quotes Semak.
The Semak team with 55 points leads the RPL standings, Rostov (46) is in second place.
