Milan celebrate the passage to semi-finals from Champions Leaguebecause this tuesday equalized 1-1 vs. Napleswith goals from Olivier Giroud for milanistas and Victor Osimhen for the Neapolitans in Diego Maradona. With this result, Stefanos Pioli’s team ended their streak quarterfinals.
An unstoppable run by Rafael Leao, started on his own turf, in the 43rd minute led to the centre-back who Giroud made no mistake with the goal in hand to give Milan a reassuring aggregate result. It wasn’t until 90+3 that Osimen equalised, but it wasn’t enough to level the aggregate score.
From the start, Luciano Spalletti’s men came out determined to try and overturn a virtual 0-1 defeat, but they quickly found their first setback. In the 20th minute Portugal’s Mário Rui collided with compatriot Leão and Poland’s Szymon Marciniak converted a penalty for the visitors, although Alex Meret flew to the left and blocked Giroud.
In the second half, the script of the match did not change, with Napoli trying and Milan holding on. And that the locals even had a penalty, which in the 80′ the visitors’ goalkeeper, Mike Mainian, blocked Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
With the ticket in hand for the semi-finals, and waiting for Inter or Benfica, the rosonero returns to this paradigm after the 2006-2007 season, just the last time he raised the orejona.
