The Russian national team can hold a friendly match with the UAE team – media

The Russian Football Union (RFU) has agreed with the UAE Football Federation to hold a friendly match between teams under 18. Also, negotiations on a test match between the two main teams may soon begin.

Earlier, RFU President Alexander Dyukov said that the Russian team could play friendly matches with teams from South America.

– The UAE Football Federation has agreed with the RFU on friendly matches between the teams under 18. Meetings between the teams will be held as part of the tournament in Dubai from 28 to 31 May. Perhaps after May, negotiations will be held between the federations on the organization of friendly matches between the main teams of Russia and the UAE, – quotes the press service of the Football Federation of the United Arab Emirates Sport24.

The Russian national team, after being suspended from international tournaments in February 2022, played five friendly matches. Last year, the away team of Valery Karpin defeated Kyrgyzstan (2:1), tied with Tajikistan (0:0) and Uzbekistan (0:0), and in 2023, they played away with Iran (1:1) and defeated Iraq at home (2:0).
