Akron CEO: “Our entire team and coaching staff deserve a monument near the stadium”

Akron General Director Alexei Vlasov said that the whole team, together with the coaching staff, deserves a monument near the stadium for their performance in the FONBET Cup of Russia.

On Wednesday, Krasnodar defeated Akron at home in a series of 11-meter matches of the first stage of the finals of the FONBET Way of Regions Cup of Russia. Regular time ended with the score 0:0. In the penalty shootout, the bulls were more accurate – 4:2. Earlier, Akron consistently knocked out the Moscow clubs Torpedo, Lokomotiv, Dynamo and Spartak from the tournament.

– Our team looked very worthy. The game with Krasnodar was equal. In general, summing up, we can note the fact that in regular time we did not lose to anyone and knocked out seven clubs. Definitely proud of the team!

Penalty shootout – our highlight? No, haha. It’s just that more than once the logic of the game developed in such a way that the strongest had to be determined in a penalty shootout. But there were moments both for us and for the opponent, as in any other game. It so happened that in regular time the winner was not revealed.

Of course, the whole team, including the coaching staff, deserves a monument near the stadium! Sergey [Волков] plays an important role: he helps us out both in regular time and in the penalty shootout.

We have six rounds left in the championship and now the main task is to climb as high as possible,” Vlasov told Sport24.
