Holland wouldn’t have scored 35 goals in a RPL season, says Kanchelskis
Former Manchester United player Andrei Kanchelskis believes that Manchester City striker Erling Haaland could not have shown high performance while playing in the Russian championship.
Haaland set the Premier League record for most goals scored in a single season this week. The Norwegian scored 35 goals and beat Andy Cole and Alan Shearer, who in the 1993/94 and 1994/95 seasons with Newcastle and Blackburn, respectively, recorded 34 goals each.
– They said that Holland could go to Rostov and CSKA? And what does he play in Manchester City then? Populism? Naturally. Let them show the papers, but there is only a lot of pathos – they like to speak in hindsight with us. If they wanted it, they would have bought it.
Fans joke that Holland would have scored 35 goals for Khimki in two matches? (laughs). No, it would be more difficult for him to play in the RPL. He has De Bruyne in midfield, who do we have? It would have been more difficult for Holland to play in the RPL, he would not have scored 35 goals in a season. It is more difficult to play in our championship than in the Premier League – the level of players in the RPL is lower, so all such talents play with them, and not with us. With us, Dziuba, having not played football for six months, is tearing up the entire championship – he is simply mocking the people who “buried” him. I think Erling would score 25 goals a season, but not 35 for sure. We can only guess, ”RB Sport” quotes Kanchelskis.
