The silver medalist of the 2002 Olympic Games, Ilya Averbukh, told Gazeta.Ru that he had several training sessions with the Druzhina football team of the Media League.
– I had several trainings – of course, the level of the guys is very high, and there is nothing special for me to do there. But I support Yegor Druzhinin, he is sick of this team. I like to play as a striker, I like to be the “tip”.
But the level of the Medialiga is very serious, and if someone had let me out on the field, it would have been only at the last minute, when nothing was decided,” Averbukh said.
49-year-old Averbukh is an Olympic silver medalist in Salt Lake City, world champion in 2002, European champion in 2003, winner of the 2003 Grand Prix final.
