Former CSKA forward Vagner Love believes that Spartak striker Quincy Promes would hardly have broken his record for the number of goals among legionnaires if he had continued to play in Russia.
“Spartak” in the Sunday match of the 26th round of the WORLD RPL lost to “Zenith” with a score of 2:3. Promes scored the second goal of the Red-Whites, converting a penalty. For the 31-year-old Dutchman, the ball became the 86th in the Russian championships, which made it possible to get ahead of the Brazilian Wagner Love and the Iranian Serdar Azmun, who scored 85 goals each.
“Records are there to be broken, but I’m happy that mine lasted about 10 years. Perhaps if I had continued to perform in Russia, then Promes would hardly have beaten my result. To date, I have 414 career goals in total. But I’m happy for Quincy, I want to sincerely congratulate him on this achievement,” Wagner Love told Metaratings.ru.
