“I don’t know what claims can be against Savichev. The dismissal of Nikolai is a step towards breaking historical ties” – Tukmanov

The former president of the Moscow “Torpedo” Alexander Tukmanov considers the decision to remove coach Nikolai Savichev from work with the team unreasonable.

Earlier on Wednesday, Match TV reported that Torpedo head coach Josep Clotet, after the Saturday match of the 26th round of the WORLD RPL with Akhmat (1: 5), removed Savichev, his assistant, from working with the team. In April, Clotet suspended Ilya Kutepov, Yuri Zhuravlev and Ravil Netfullin from the first team.

– Only the head coach Josep Clotet knows the true motives for the removal of Nikolai Savichev. But for us, of course, it’s amazing. If it is possible to find reasons for the suspension of team players (perhaps they do not correspond to the level of the team, they behaved incorrectly in the locker room), then it is completely incomprehensible here.

I do not know what claims can be made against Nikolai Nikolaevich. He is very efficient and calm specialist, a true professional. His assistant level is quite consistent with the level of the Torpedo football club. In addition, Savichev is the last representative of that legendary factory team. Therefore, it is surprising to me when a person like Clotet, who has been at the club for a week without a year, makes such decisions in relation to the legends of the club, ”Tukmanov told RT.

Savichev spent his entire career as a player at Torpedo, with whom he won the USSR Cup and the Russian Cup. Since 2011, the 58-year-old specialist has been working with the coaching staff of the Moscow club with a break for one season, including several times he was the head coach of the team.
