President RPL Alexander Alaev noted that next season the championship will be held according to the usual system. Previously, there was talk of this RPL the new format can be applied.
In the next season, even if everyone really wants to, it’s hard to change anything. Two and a half months until launch. There are contracts with partners, which specify the number of matches, financial conditions. There is no doubt that next season we will be playing in the usual 2 rounds, 30 games format.
Alaev also appreciated the possibility of changing the scheme for holding the Cup of Russia:
I do not know the details of the agreement between RFS extension and partner. But it’s somehow easier to make changes there, because the new format is revolutionary and everyone sees that some changes could be made. Taking into account that the group stage started at the end of August, there is time for fine-tuning – taking into account opinions, first of all, RFS extension. In my opinion, you can unload the group stage a little.
