Barcelona denies receiving multimillion-dollar fines for financial irregularities
Barcelona issued a statement on their official website denying reports that they were fined 15 million euros by the Spanish tax authorities.
El Confidencial reported on Thursday that Spain’s tax agency has imposed a fine of 15.7 million euros on Barcelona.
– FC Barcelona wants to refute the content of the information published on Thursday 11 May 2023 by the newspaper El Confidential.
Of the alleged violations that El Confidencial talks about in its article, none of the issues mentioned were sanctioned by the Ministry of Finance, the Catalan club said in a statement.
Barcelona top the Spanish Liga with 82 points from 33 matches.
