Dynamo urgently gets rid of the coach. Didn’t forgive the failure in the anniversary season?

Jokanovic was told to leave three rounds before the end of the championship.

Moscow “Dynamo” this year turned exactly 100 years old. Under such a powerful date, the fans really wanted to see a bright game performed by the Blue and White, and ideally take the trophy. It must be admitted that in the FONBET Cup of Russia they were really close to this, but they managed to lose to the outsider MELBET-First League. In the RPL, in recent weeks, a complete disaster has occurred.

Dynamo bosses found head coach Slavisa Jokanovic guilty of all sins and announced the Serb’s departure from the club after the match with Akhmat.

Jokanovic started off briskly

The Serb’s appointment in June 2022 was met with controversy. On the one hand, Jokanovic managed to train three well-known English clubs, became the champion of Serbia with Partizan and was not afraid to come to Russia in difficult times. On the other hand, there were no super-outstanding achievements in his career. In addition, he replaced the German Sandro Schwartz, who was loved by the fans and who led Dynamo to the Russian Cup final, where the Blue and White lost to Spartak in a dramatic match at Luzhniki.

At first everything was very good. Dynamo did not lose during the first eight rounds, someone even thought that they could compete with Zenit in the fight for the championship. At least they should have stayed in the top three. But time passed, the Petersburgers, of course, ran far ahead, and Dynamo fell lower and lower. Nevertheless, hopes remained for the spring part.

First of all, they were associated with the Russian Cup, where the Muscovites got close to the final. But instead of fighting for the long-awaited trophy in the anniversary year, the fans were defeated at their home stadium by Akron, which is located close to the relegation zone in the First League.

There are talents, the result is zero

Probably, that match finally finished off both Jokanovic and the players. In the last four meetings in the framework of the RPL, Dynamo managed to lose three times. The home defeat from Akhmat forced the leadership to take urgent measures. A member of the club’s board of directors, Dmitry Gafin, came out to reporters after the final whistle and said that Dynamo would have a new coach in the next match. Initially, the bosses wanted to give the Serb the opportunity to finalize before the end of the season, this would save money and time looking for a new specialist. Obviously, what he saw at the home stadium in the game with Akhmat angered Gafin and other leaders so much that the decision was made urgently.

Dynamo in recent years was considered a team with a lot of young talents: Zakharyan, Tyukavin, Gladyshev, Fomin, Grulev and others. Last season the fans could not get enough of what a cool generation is growing up in their club. Yes, and the legionnaires were quite good by the current criteria. Only now, instead of moving up, there was a flight into the abyss.

Apparently, Jokanovic at some point simply lost control of the team, and the players lost their self-confidence. After all, it cannot be said that the “white-and-blue” have played so disgustingly in recent months, we will take the match with Akhmat into brackets. Dynamo had options to achieve other results, but somewhere they did not reach, somewhere they were unlucky, somewhere they made ridiculous mistakes. As a result, by the end of such a significant season, the club was left without a coach and without trophies.

There are rumors that Dynamo may be headed by Marko Nikolic, who previously worked with Lokomotiv. Well, if one Serb did not succeed, perhaps another will succeed.
