Former Baltika head coach Valery Nepomnyashchy admitted that he followed the team’s performances this season and hopes that Kaliningrad’s head coach Sergei Ignashevich will continue to grow professionally.
– For Kaliningrad, entering the RPL is a big event, they have long dreamed about it. Everything worked out this season: the team plays, the management creates all the conditions and, of course, the coach found his team.
I’ve been following Baltika this year. Sergei Ignashevich showed himself at such a level, God forbid that he grows further and after some time ended up in CSKA, – Nepomniachtchi told Metaratings.ru.
Ignashevich has been heading the coaching staff of Baltika Kaliningrad since 2021. The team won the right to play in the RPL WORLD in the 2023/24 season after a draw in the match of the 32nd round of the MELBET First League between Akron Togliatti and Alania Vladikavkaz (0:0). The last time Baltika played in the top division of the Russian championship was 25 years ago.
On Saturday, Baltika (64 points) will host Rubin Kazan (62), which is second in the standings.
Watch the live broadcast of the match from 21:25 Moscow time on Match TV and MATCH PREMIER channels, as well as matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru websites.
