The ex-head coach of Dynamo Sergey Silkin told RB Sport that he considers Aris forward Alexander Kokorin to be a talented football player who has squandered his abilities.
The day before, the Aris striker, owned by Fiorentina, received the Cyprus Footballers Association Award and was recognized as the best player in the national championship this season.
– Is the level of football in Cyprus higher than in Russia? The RPL is much more difficult to play than there. That he was recognized as the best is an achievement, but still do not forget what league he plays in. Kokorin is a very talented guy. Unfortunately, he squandered all his abilities on unnecessary things, more was expected of him. He has the qualities of a real striker. I saw how he progressed, how he wanted to play football. It’s a pity he lost everything,” Silkin said.
This season, the 32-year-old striker has made 28 appearances for Aris in all competitions, scoring 13 goals and providing 6 assists.
