Former midfielder of the Russian national team Alexander Mostovoy believes that the chief referee Sergei Karasev in the match of the 28th round of the WORLD RPL between Spartak and CSKA did not correctly appoint a penalty in the moment of duel between Igor Diveev and Roman Zobnin.

Sunday’s meeting, held at the “Opening Bank Arena”, ended with a score of 2:1 in favor of Spartak. In the 83rd minute, the VAR center watched an episode in which CSKA defender Diveev stepped on the foot of Spartak midfielder Zobnin inside the army team’s penalty area. Karasev was called to the monitor, but did not appoint a 11-meter kick.

– We must pay tribute to Karasev – he became the first referee who did not appoint a penalty for the offensive. It is correct that he did not put it, because it was not there. We are already laughing at these offensives, but it is no longer funny. A man knocks the ball, then where will he put his leg, with which he knocked him out?

It’s good that the arbitrator figured it out here, in principle, VAR could not be contacted here, VAR had to prompt itself and that’s it.

On the second penalty – at first I thought that it was, because when a person falls as if he is about to jump into the pool, it might seem that there was some kind of fatal blow: to the leg, ankle, somewhere else. But when I watched the replay two or three times, I realized that this was not a penalty for me,” Mostovoy told Gazeta.Ru.

Spartak scored 53 points and climbed to third place in the RPL table, CSKA is second with 54 points.
