Aris head coach Aleksey Shpilevsky told RB Sport that he had talked with Dynamo sports director Zeljko Buvac, but that he would continue to work in the Cypriot club next season.
Aris, for which the Russian striker Alexander Kokorin plays, won the Cypriot championship ahead of schedule.
“Everything went emotionally, cool,” Shpilevsky noted. “This is a really big event. For the first time in 93 years, to do this in Cyprus, with such big rivals as APOEL, AEK, Apollo, Paphos, Omonia… Our guys are just great. This achievement is fully deserved.
– Do you have an understanding of whether you will stay at Aris next season?
“I think it would be foolish of me to do anything. We will play in the second round of the Champions League qualification. So now all my thoughts are only about Aris.
– It turns out that you definitely decided for yourself that you are staying in Cyprus?
– Yes, sure.
– I’m asking because there was a lot of talk that you are a candidate for the post of head coach of Dynamo Moscow.
— We had a conversation with Zeljko Buvac. I really appreciate the interest of such a top specialist, it was a pleasure to talk with him. I gave him my vision. I have a contract with Aris, we became champions, we will play in the Champions League. At the moment I have all thoughts only about this team.
In the last round of the championship “Aris” will meet with APOEL on the road.
