“You can’t write off Rostov and Akhmat, they can compete for RPL medals” – Semshov

Former Russian national team player Igor Semshov believes that Akhmat and Rostov can join the fight for the top three RPL.
– I would not say that it will be easier for Spartak to win second place than CSKA, if you look at the calendar. The Red-Whites play two matches with teams that are fighting for survival. Everyone has a good chance of being both second and third. Don’t discount Rostov and Akhmat yet. Grozny can climb into the top three at the end of the season. But it all depends on the teams themselves. All these clubs are losing points, so there are no favorites. Now every game will be a challenge for every team. Rostov hasn’t scored in recent games, Spartak beat CSKA, although before the derby the army team looked better. All four teams have really good chances to win both second and third places. It all depends on the specific matches.
All these four teams have been stable lately. Yes, someone had a better part of the championship, and someone worse, but everyone is ready to win a little. There will be a lot of intrigue in the last two rounds, especially now many are meeting each other. And it will not be easy for Spartak, despite the fact that they play with teams from the bottom of the standings. For a long time there has not been such a denouement and such tension in the RPL.
If Akhmat climbs into the top three at the end of the season, then there will be a real holiday in Grozny! In general, Akhmat has always been a strong club, which was a little short of medals. Teams that end up in the top three will be disappointed by the fact that they will not play in European competition next season. But anyway, at the beginning of the season, every club sets a task and goes to it, – Semshov told Metaratings.ru.
Rostov is fourth in the standings with 50 points, Akhmat is fifth (49).
