Alexander Medvedev called Zenit the flagship of Russian football

President Zenith Alexander Medvedev shared his opinion on the competition in Russian football.

Our goal is always to win: both in jubilee and non-jubilee years. I think Zenit are the obvious flagships of Russian football. This is good for our football, contrary to the opinion of some pseudo-experts who say that our football is degrading. It is in the fight against the leader, in the fight for the title with a strong opponent that football can develop. Because you can change champions every year, playing at random. “These are already some gestures of desperation. Our athletes are increasingly allowed to participate in international competitions; there are no conflicts or boycotts. Athletes even communicate with each other, this does not bring negative consequences. The appeals of Ukrainians to remove our athletes from every part of the world no longer find understanding among appropriate sports officials. Therefore, such appeals already seem desperate,” Svishchev said.
