Former goalkeeper of the Russian national team Ruslan Nigmatullin commented on the information that Lokomotiv Moscow midfielder Dmitry Barinov extended his contract with the club until 2026.
The railroad announced the extension of the contract with Barinov on 24 May.
— Lokomotiv is building a young and promising team. But any growing team needs an experienced backbone. I think that extending the contract with Barinov for three years is the best solution for both parties. Dima had no reason to go to Europe. Why risk your career? There it would be possible not to play and ruin a career. I am very glad that Lokomotiv and Barinov managed to agree among themselves, – quotes the words of Nigmatullin “Championship”.
Barinov, who has been playing for the Lokomotiv main team since 2015, is the captain of the railway workers. For Lokomotiv, he played 182 matches in which he scored eight goals and gave 12 assists. Together with the team, Dmitry became the champion of Russia in the 2017/2018 season.
